Initially, the word "discipline" in BDSM meant the practice of restricting freedom of behavior by establishing rules (etiquette). Therefore, it stands next to bondage (restriction of physical freedom) - however, one must understand that this is only a crooked translation, and BD should be translated "compulsion and discipline", and not "bondage (binding) and discipline". However, today this practice is considered much more widely.

Discipline is the regulation of behavior and social interactions of the Bottom in accordance with the rules established by the Top.

Discipline can be a stand-alone practice where the goal is to have the pleasure of the BD-partners within the framework of a role-playing game, or it can be aimed at actually managing the life of a sub in a D/C pair.

Types of discipline: voluntary and corrective (or corrective).

Elements of discipline as practice:

● control of the Bottom's behavior;

● formation of qualities and skills that the Top wants to see from him;

● formation of the appearance of the Bottom;

● management of Bottom social role and social circle;

● psi-sadism;

●role-playing games (include a complex of individual elements of discipline, bondage, fetish and SM, as well as non-thematic actions).

Methods of discipline: education (motivation), training, punishment for non-compliance.
